It varies depending on availability, but it seems a minimum of about 10 return trips SYD/MEL-Other Oz/Pacific and 8 for other international.

Hmm - its free to join so it must be worth 2 mins of my time. I might have a couple of virgin atlantic flights next year - not sure if the points would be transferrable into the velocity program :/

Not sure how they value the 1,000,000 points so low - if it is 8 economy return tix to europe - thats about $16,000 surely?

I saw a doco on TV last week about Virgin Galactic and they stated that they were thinking of offereing people to use VS 2,000,000 points for a trip into space. Worth while I think.

So 1,000,000 will get you out to space. Just need to get another 1,000,000 for the return journey

This is already listed on the Virgin Atlantic site, but they state only miles earned flying Virgin Atlantic can be used for this award.
