Velocity Gold Access to SQ Lounges

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has tried to use their Velocity gold or plat to access SQ lounges? The Virgin website states that this access is available - and reciprocal lounge access has been publicised ahead of the full partner agreement with VA and SQ - however upon checking with SQ they are saying that access is not available.

Any thoughts?

The same problem Velocity have with Etihad. When I tried to use my Platinum status to have access in Abu Dhabi last month, was told they are not aware anout any agreement with Velocity about any Platinum status. When I tried to use my Platinum card with Etihad to have extra laggage for free in Moscow, proudly was told by their representative, they are not part of any alliances and to not tolerate any status from Velocity
