Hi Team

I'm flying on a SQ ticket from PER to SG on Friday morning. This is the first time I will be doing as a Velocity Gold flyer. Booked direct with SIA through their website.

I have my Velocity number booked on the ticket currently. I just want to confirm some benefits. I will get access to the Silverkris lounge in Perth correct and the Krisflyer Gold lounge on the way back? I am currently only in Y.

But mainly I want to know is what check in line I can use. It does say on the VA website I get priority check in but from what I can remember SIA have check in line for First, Business/krisflyer Gold+Plat+ *A S Gold , premium and economy. What line can I use as a Velocity gold? As its not really clear. Website as I said just says priority check in and from what I remember the lines don't mention Velocity just *A at the SIA counters.

Same applies for boarding I guess? I will be allowed to board with business and status pax?

Also finally is there anyway I can upgrade my ticket. I have plenty of VA points. If I transfer my points to krisflyer is there anyway I can use them to upgraded my ticket? like can I change the frequent flyer number to my krisflyer do an upgrade if available then change my number back to velocity so I can get the benefits when I check in? As I have no status with krisflyer, had silver but lost it maybe 6 months ago.

Hopefully that all makes sense I am a little new to all this., thanks in advance.

In Perth (no separation between J and KF Gold/*A Gold pax here) -

Check in at J desk
Use SilverKris Lounge
Board with J pax in single priority line

In Singapore (separation enforced to some degree here) -

Check in at KF Gold/*A Gold desk
Use KF Gold lounge
Board with KF Gold/*A Gold pax which is after the J pax board (sometimes a separate line but not generally on PER flights).

You should get 'Partner Gold' on your boarding pass to indicate your eligibility.

No upgrades from VFF directly and only some SQ fares (Flexi) are upgradable even if you were travelling totally within KF.

Funny but i was wondering the same thing but as Platinum i was just going to get in the business line and hope for the best.
I'm booked BNE to LHR on Thursday.
As it stands to date though it seems i have no chance of PE - J upgrade sadly.

When hubby was SG, we checked in at business class with no problems.

For boarding, somewhere after J and PPS (?) and before Y was a invite for partner airline gold but it was down on the list so give J about 45 seconds and just join the queue.

I've done a few SQ trips now as Gold or Platinum in Y or PE.

General rule is use Business Class Check-In & Boarding lines at outstations, follow the rules in Singapore (usually means *A Gold check in & boarding lines/announcements) as they do tend to police those things closer in Singapore. I was also uncertain the first time I flew as Gold with them, and actually lined up in the Premium Economy line in Sydney, only to be told that I could use the Business line.

SilverKris lounges are a go everywhere except Singapore, where you will use Krisflyer Gold (as will anyone not travelling in J, even elite Krisflyer status travelling in Y I believe)

Upgrade depends on your booking class, cheaper tickets won't be eligible. You'll also need to upgrade via a Krisflyer account subject to availability (points can be instantly transferred from Velocity), nothing stopping you from putting KF number in, upgrading, then switching to VA #.

Be ready for the points not to post because it will look like you booked an award fare and have to follow up with VA!
