Received a letter from NAB the other week about NAB Velocity Visa and NAB Velocity Gold AMEX. Only 5,000 Velocity points, if you activate your card by July 2006. Waive the c/c fee in the first year and then $44/pa for Visa and $150/pa for Gold Amex. Interest rate is 18% for Visa and 17.5% for Gold Amex. With Visa 1 Velocity point for each $2 spent and Gold Amex 1 Velocity points for each $1 spent.

In some newspapers I have seen ads where no Velocity points are offered for signing up!!

Appears to be a very poor deal all-round. Anyone taking up this offer recently? How long since the 15,000 point offer disappeared?

The standard offer on the NAB website offers the 5,000 points - interestingly the annual fee for the visa is listed as $69 with a 44 day payment period so maybe the print ad is a typo?

Terribly sorry but ad is listed as $65 with a 44 day payment period. I read the wrong number!.

Still would be a typo in the ad if the website mentions annual fee of $69.

Hi John. I've just received an email from Velocity offering the NAB cards again with 15,000 point bonus. It looks like the offer is to existing Velocity members.

One wonders if it is performing badly in the market

Thanks guys. I have no idea what they are doing. Do they? I have also received the e-mail on Monday. There is now mention of no annual card fee where as the newspaper ad said fee was waived in first year.
