Hi All,

I do apologise if this has been posted before, I tried a quick search to no avail.
I'm a Velocity Platinum who has just booked HBA-SYD-AKL with Virgin Australia. The SYD-AKL leg will be codeshare flying on AirNZ metal. As such I cannot select a good seat and they're allocated at check-in.

Is there a way around this? Will the very helpful Plat call centre people be able to seat select? Would definitely like to reserve either bulkhead or exit.

Thanks!

Maybe try a call?

I can't help in your specific situation but can confirm when booking direct with NZ I was able to choose row 4 on the trans Tasman leg and the frot row of Y on their 777 AKL - LAX and I'm only SG.

Even if you can't end up booking a specific seat , IME you are likely to be seated up the front and supplied with noise cancelling headphones and express passes.

Yep from my experience I asked for a good seat at checkin and was provided either an exit row or a row up the front (and then onboard recognition was great).
I didn't try calling VA though.
Also myself and all my traveling party were able to be seated together, and all were offered newspapers and premium headsets.

Give AirNZ a call. They will allocate a seat, it might not be great, but their onboard recognition is very good. Much better than VA which wouldn't be hard.
