Velocity points upgrades closer to flight time

Not sure if this has been discussed as I haven't been on AFF as much lately, but just noticed that you can now request upgrades up until 4 hours before a Virgin flight (previously was 24 hours).

First step towards ODUs? (A reliable source did indicate to me some time ago that ODUs are going to be available in the lounge at some stage in the future - I'm guessing once they start they will be within 4 hours and would not require premium reward seat availability)

You can request an upgrade using Points up to 4 hours prior to your flight, subject to Premium Reward Seat availability. To request an upgrade, call 131 875 if within Australia, 0800 230 875 if calling from New Zealand, and +61 2 8667 5924 if calling internationally.

A couple of weeks back I upgraded on a 1pm flight at 10:30am that morning. So it seems to be flexible.
