I have a Velocity redemption for 2 pax. One pax now cant travel. I have looked at manage my booking and cant see how to amend the booking to delete one pax. Is this possible either online or on the phone? It is a Velocity booking on SQ flights.

If not possible to amend the booking does anyone have any recent experience of a cancelled Velocity redemption flowing straight back into the award inventory?

Thanks.

You'll need to call and ask if the booking can be split?

Having done this before you'll generally find that the inventory goes straight back in. So long as you're not unlucky then you'll be able to complete the replacement booking straight away.
As an example I had a J award booking for BNE-SYD-LAX with DL in July this year and when the UA tie-up went live I could see J availability for SYD-SFO leg, but not BNE-SYD. Cancelled the BNE-SYD-LAX and J opened up for BNE-SYD-SFO straight away.
Having said that, YMMV.

To close the loop on this one.

I called the helpdesk this morning, was advised there would be a long wait. There was in fact no wait. The lady split the booking, resent the itinerary while i was on the phone including an eticket number, refunded the points in real time, and advised the refund of taxes would take up to 10 days. This whole call took 12 minutes from go to wo.

OMFG after dealing with Qantas i need a drink to calm me down. This is how it should be. The irony of all this is that the lady i spoke to is probably in the same building in Manila as the Qantas help desk but just a different level.
