Hi all,

Over the past few years I've been a natsy in collecting Velocity points and have managed to get to the 300k mark now.

I travel one or twice a year and never really use my points as I'm trying to save them - for what I don't know. I also find it painful having to call Velocity on numerous occasions to try understand what partners I can use and how many points they cost for a seat.

I know on the vaustralia site you can search for rewards fares flying Virgin or Etihad, but nothing with Singapore comes up or even with Virgin Atlantic and other partners.

Is there a table of some sort that shows destinations, airlines and most importantly the amount of points from x to x destinations? I know you can call but it's a painful experience and in the past I've noticed just by booking from another close city you can shave something like 30% off the points price strangely enough.

Thanks!

Thanks... however I'm more of less looking for an actual table of destinations not just miles.. ie Melb - Syd = , Mel - Brisbane = , Melb to LA = etc etc

Thanks for posting - caused me to go and refresh my memory on 'rewards' type seats with VA and partners as opposed to my normal upgrade to J domestic and ignore international with VA altogether. They have some surprisingly good points/prices in J, and also in F (if you can ever actually find availability that is).

I've been burning mountains of points on domestic upgrades but really, looking at this table and doing some dummy runs, I shouldn't be doing that at all. International J seems very affordable, points wise, even with some of the well known partners.

In any event, to your question, I don't know of there being a table with cities listed, but its reasonably easy to nut out if you go here:

Great Circle Mapper

and plonk in your legs. Then match the distances against the points required table. I just did it and it seems reasonably accurate.
