Velocity Rewards Shop Inflation

I also noticed that the Qantas store prices had changed on some items as well, from the presentation of the sites I wonder if the stores are contracted out to the same company?

Was good to see they added a few more things to the store, it was lacking a little especially compared to the relaunched Qantas site.

And unlike the horror stories I have heard with the QF shop, I have had 3 redemptions done with Velocity's shop and the goods were all delivered within a week. :)

Could the increases in the Velocity shop be due to the 50% and now 25% bonus points on transfers?

On a plus note, they have implemented points + pay for all rewards now.

Generally you only need 40%-50% of points to redeem for something.

e.g. for $1000 gift voucher, you only need 50k+$577, so 50k=$423, i.e. 0.846c/point, vs 0.833c/point for 120k=$1000

I just noticed Myer vouchers using QANTAS are reduced from 135k to 125k for $1000 till end of Feb 09.

To try and seduce people into dumping their points in QF, or doing to direct earn with QF on their CC... once they've done so, the points will go up

A good story - redeemed through Velocity a $1000 card last week (Friday), and one week later it arrived in my mail box - could have been 6 days - missed checking my mail for one day)

Yes, the price had gone up by 10,000 points over the one I got this time last year.

Well done, nice quick redemption.... Now bring on the mid year sales and I will really get some bamng for my buck/point
