I have just noticed that the status feature has been added, and it seems as if you needed 20,000 status points, which should be of the same value of normal velocity points, by the month you joined ('Qualification Period') to get a higher status. Does anyone have any further details on this..

Looks like I'll be stuck on Red forever!! Only another 17,738 status points to go!!

Wont be going anywhere above Red

Oops!

The Velocity Rewards page you are looking for cannot be found.
It may have moved, or it may no longer be available.

I looked at my account and couldn't find anything that tells me my status for having 46k points.

Looks like the "soft announcement" has either been pulled, or the website has reverted to an older content version for some reason. Hmmm. <insert conspiracy theory here :D >

46K points under the new scheme should give you Silver, with 4000 points to go until Gold. (This is assuming the 46000 points has been earned within your year qualifying period and on Virgin [blue] /Pacific/Polynesian Blue airline company flights). More details were on the DJ page, but of course not there now.

This is an excerpt from an email
"The more you fly Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue or Polynesian Blue, the closer you are to becoming a Silver or Gold Member. For every dollar you spend, you now earn 5 Velocity Points* plus 5 Status Credits*. The introduction of Status Credits is an additional benefit for Members youll essentially be 'doubly' rewarded. You can also earn Status Credits from selected Program Partners"

Who are or will be "selected program partners". The implication is that it is other than Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue or Polynesian Blue

Surprise, Surpise
Grandfathered in as a Silver. Most peculiar
