Velocity Status Earn Reduced? [no - earn is still based on fare type]

VFF do not use status points.
Points and status (credits) are different.
Number of status credits earnt can change, like when they brought in lower fares were non eligible sectors for status retention.

OP said last year. So either OP bought a Choice fare when DSC was on, or bought Flex last year and Choice this year.
