Was looking around the Velocity site today when I noticed an offer to do with the new Y+ offering:

Velocity said:
To celebrate the launch of Virgin Blue's Premium Economy, we're offering you bonus Velocity Points on selected Premium Economy fares.

Book a Premium Economy fare on one of the selected routes between 27 February 2008 and 30 April 2008, for travel between 15 March 2008 and 30 April 2008, and you'll earn bonus Velocity Points that you could redeem for a flight! Terms and conditions apply. Selected routes are:
  • Melbourne to Sydney
  • Brisbane to Sydney
  • Gold Coast to Sydney
  • Brisbane to Melbourne
  • Brisbane to Mackay
  • Melbourne to Gold Coast
  • Adelaide to Melbourne
  • Melbourne to Perth
  • Perth to Sydney
  • Brisbane to Perth
  • Canberra to Sydney
Note that nothing is said about how many bonus points you get. But in the T's and C's...
T's and C's said:
Bonus Points will be calculated so as when added to the base Points they equal the amount of Points required for an R class redemption (exclusive of taxes, fees and surcharges) on the same route. Calculations are correct as at 13 February 2008. The Point values required for an R class redemption fare are subject to change and are subject to availability.
So am I to understand that Velocity members who buy a Y+ seat on one of these routes will effectively get a Y seat (or more accurately, enough points to redeem a Y seat) on the same route free (minus taxes and fuel fines)?

That's a pretty good deal if thats the case.

Refer to Velocity> Earn bonus Points when you fly Premium Economy

It seems to be what it's saying, but what's an R class fare equal on DJ? Is it a Blue Saver? Or a Sale Fare maybe?

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

That would be my take on what they are saying. Given the way the points are creditted they robably don't have much choice but to calculate the bonus the way they have.

I believe they're the regular Blue Savers.
