Hi all!

Just got a hold of a Westpac Krisflyer American Express card but was wondering

1. With all the offers for American Express card holders, eg. Hyatt offers, are they eligible with my card? I know technically it is a Westpac card but it is also an American Express card... There are a lot of good offers around!

2. Also, I assume those offers for United States American Platinum holders are different to holders in Australia? I was simply browsing through and you can get companion tickets etc. free, but I assume it's for USA only!

Quite confused!

Thanks

1. If the offer is promoted by Hyatt et al, it is probably open to all AMEX cardholders regardless of who issued the AMEX card. If the offer is promoted by AMEX, then it is only open to its own cardholders, ie those whose cards are issued directly by AMEX rather than via a bank.

2. No, the US AMEX site is only relevant to US-based holders of AMEX-issued cards, and the AMEX Plat benefits do vary from country to country. For your Westpac card, you need to refer to Westpac to identify all the benefits specific to the card you hold. I am sure the Westpac website has this info, failing which you should also find your welcome pack helpful.
