Just read this article. Another airline hits my "no-fly" list.

If it was a VMC morning, it’s not impossible that their rules state 500’ as the point at which they must be configured. So, perhaps not as bad as it sounds. Anyway, the aircraft will get very upset, and you’ll get all sorts of alarms, if you get too low without being configured. I don’t think they’d have reached that point at the 675 feet that is mentioned.

Every incident/situation which I have ever been actually involved in or had personal knowledge of.... that WAS reported in the media, was misreported to a lesser or greater extent. I'll trust jb747s comment. And wait for the report....

To be fair, 'The Age' report (the first media one) was factual and not sensationalist.

I recall a firsthand account of a similar event involving a Qantas B747 landing in Rome.
But it was 40+ years ago.

Is QF on your list after this incident in 2018?

It's an unsettling truth that all people make mistakes and in both these cases the system worked as designed to contain the mistake. It's the airlines that cover up their mistakes and fire their staff that make me nervous.
