Hi

In early April I flew Virgin America Los Angeles to Washington DC return and my velocity points or status credits haven't come through yet. I have emailed Velocity rewards with my copies of my tickets etc but as I am about 13,518 credits away from retaining gold I was wondering if any one knew :

how many status credits I would expect to get?
and

How many points I might get if I'm a Gold Velocity and registered for the current double points promo with Virgin America.
I travelled LAX-IAD return in Main Cabin Select (which I upgraded to at the airport).

Thank you

If I had to guess

their example at 0.5 earn is

Los Angeles - Washington DC 1,144 points

so Main Cabin Select will get you 2,288 points

Then double promo would be 4,576 points

return would be 4,576 points as well

Total of 9,152

With Gold bonus 40% you're looking at around

12,813*

*I think

Hi Jean_Pierre

The double points doesn't apply to status credits, only points.

You're looking at approx 4560 miles which is doubled to 9120 points. Your 40% gold bonus bumps it up to about 12768 points. But as I said, you'll only get the 4560 status credits.

Ah yes, I didn't think about the status credit points not doubling

Be wary about the instant upgrade fares.

Before this promo I upgraded my BOS-LAX flight to MCS and then to F and was initially told it wasn't eligible for ANY points based on the original class i'd booked -- which admittedly was cheap but they don't actually show you the fare bucket on the ticket you get.

After much toing and froing with the Velocity team i managed to get points credited but not at the F rate.

For what it's worth it does say that MCS instant upgrade earns one point per mile. However it doesn't even reference F instant upgrade.

Hi

I feel your pain. I flew LAX-DFW on Feb 28, then BOS-LAX on March 6, both as part of a VA PE fare. I'm still waiting for my points and SCs.

Grrrrrr.....

I just e-mailed Velocity my VX boarding pass for the same route a couple of minutes ago. I upgraded to First @ T-6 hours (well... I made someone in DC get up early to do it because I was en route from SYD) so it will be interesting to see how many points I get.

Even if I don't get the extra poitns for First, the 270USD was well worth it especially after 13 hours in economy from Sydney!
