[FONT=&]Apparently this building was originally a highland mansion of the 17[SUP]th[/SUP] Century. Contained within a stone wall & an easy 7 min walk uphill from the bus station. Since booking we had read a few scathing reviews but our fears were soon allayed-the many apartments do have varied layouts apparently. Our upstairs/downstairs apartment for the next 3 nights is room 9 Pena Vieja. Located on level 1 we certainly have plenty of room and a great view to the mountains from the small juliet balcony. The old building has been well renovated (a bit of minor maintenance is needed) & the kitchen is well equipped although strangely it is all cupboards & not 1 drawer. The washing machine is located here. We have a good sized sitting room with fast wifi-no English speaking TV available. Upstairs is a good shower (minor leak onto floor) in a comfortable bathroom & a comfortable bed. There are skylights throughout that fit in well with the many old timber beams. There is a very clean inground pool and[/FONT] associated loungers in the grounds but the weather means we are not tempted.
