From chats to their staff (in an admittedly intoxicated state so the details are somewhat hazy), they have one or two wines they sell direct to restaurants & not through their traditional channels. This is mainly done to stop the 'hey, why am I getting charged $90 for this bottle when I can buy it for $40?' type comparisons from happening, apparently. I presume the Special Select is one such wine.
