I know there's a couple of threads on best seats in J and Y+ on the 777's, but whats your option on Y?

I'm traveling with my partner and normally i choose the window, but in the 3x3x3 configuration, this could get annoying if sitting with someone else. Would the middle section make more sense? Is row 25 (the two seater) any good? it is next to the toilet..

I liked the 2 seats when traveling with the wife, as it meant we didnt have to climb over a stranger. It definately was noiser with people standing around the toilet, but only after a meal service.

Depending on the flight capacity you could choose to book a window and an aisle seat in the hope that someone doesn't get seated in between you. If someone does get put in between you, most people would be happy to swap their middle seat for an aisle or window. If you're trying this, it's best to look on Expert Flyer first to see how many seats are unassigned and the likelihood of this working.

If economy is as far as your budget goes, can you stretch it to 3 seats and buying the 3rd for comfort?

Otherwise, I would and have picked the 2 seat rows on long hauls before - thousands survive them every day.

Goodluck!

How about the bulkhead seats? based on row 3 travel on 737 i'm not sure it would good idea long haul.

Pros:
- Extra leg room
- Move around with disturbing others

Cons:
- No foot rest
- Arm rests can't be lifted
- Bassinets
- Entertainment must be stowed for take off and landing

any others?

It's a long flight and VA's Y seats are some of the worst in terms of comfort and the IFE is pretty poor for selection.

I'd avoid the rows near back of each cabin (by the toilets) or the exit/bulkheads except for row 20, which you won't get unless you have status with VA.

Load up some movies on your device, sit on the pillow and you'll be fine. Have fun and don't worry about the flight.

I flew in middle left side could see the galley at rear of plane..... Between two chicks... Not bad at all ;)
Prefer the left right x3 to the middle seats.... Unless you get a row of middle too yourself ;).
Have had it in business class and Cathay in Y to Singapore!!!!
