In the Loft at LAX waiting for our flight to Sydney.
A very pleasant surprise when compared to Delta Sky Club. Actually have food of substance. Sushie- vegetarian and seafood with condiments of pickle ginger and wasabi, grilled vegetable and pasta salad, parmesan chicken wrap, seared tuna with mixed greens, fruit and cheese plate, a toaster (which actually toasts bread evenly in one go),with vegemite, marmalade, strawberry jam and peanut butter, cheese and crackers and a selection of delicious petite fours. Also, sliced cheese and meat with condiments. Complimentary decent alcohol which even includes Bombay Sapphire Gin. :D

Complimentary internet access. No showers.

Very pleasant desk attendants and great staff.

Two very happy travellers. :D

We arrived 3 hours before our flight and it was 2/3 full. (Took 17mins from leaving hotel, checking in and through security!) By 2 hours before flight it was full.

WOW

You are one of the first positive posts about this lounge... Most reviews have rubbished it

Nope even I praised the lounge after a visit in Feb :)

I was there in the morning so it was breakfast options and all the goodies mentioned in the original post along with a very nice bar :)

At night it appears the menu is pretty much the same, except for no cerals etc..

Lounge Review: Virgin America's Loft Lounge, Los Angeles - Airlines | flights | hotels | travel tech | style | apps - Australian Business Traveller

As a lounge in the USA it's pretty good, except for no showers.... It's still 3rd in the list of lounges I'd want to visit. QF first choice, NZ second and VA third.

However, once QF open their new lounges in less than 12 months it will blow the Virgin loft lounge totally out of the water

You have got to be joking.

I was there a couple of days ago. Granted a big improvement on 6 months ago but the food choice was minimal and NO SHOWERS. Are they serious.

I was really impressed how the on-board service and food has improved since my last J flight with VA to LAX six months ago but the lounge is a joke!!

We are sitting in the loft as I type this waiting for our VX flight to Seattle. Some good food offerings for breakfast and not very busy at all. The last time I was her was in 2011 when VA departed from terminal 3 and remember the signage to the lounge was good. Had to search for the entrance this time as I could only remember it was upstairs. Perhaps the number of guests reflects the signage, or lack thereof.

All they had for breakfast two weeks ago was bread for the toaster, and a couple of cereal tubs. And no lunch foods appeared around noon either.
