PITA that your number changes with each status level, and had issues trying to work out the security question "when was the last time you flew with VS"

I am RED at the moment with VS, if I changed to silver I will get a new member number correct? If so, will my AMEX transfer to VS still work using my RED membership number? I believe it's a yes but would want to confirm :)

The old numbers still work, I credit Hertz to a number I had when Gold without an issue!

ok thanks. I will try this free silver upgrade from my RED. Not that it will benefit me much!

I need to find my eticket of my last flight lol. Somewhere in my emails !

Unlikely to ever fly Virgin but figured I'd have a crack. Seems like it would flow across to Virgin Australia.

"[h=2]MORE BENEFITS WITH VIRGIN AUSTRALIA[/h]

Just noticed this on the V Atlantic site, is it true? When you travel in Premium or Economy Class, you'll automatically receive; priority baggage and one additional piece of baggage. You can also use the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class check in counters and relax in our Clubhouses in London Heathrow, Hong Kong and San Francisco.

Cool. Now if only they had lounge passes like VA. I can imagine those not being included with a comp Silver... But still, a discounted lounge membership or similar isn't that unreasonable now, is it?

The paid lounge membership is very much an American and Australian concept, so I doubt it.
On the plus side, when it says Premium Economy check-in, I suspect it is an overhang from the Virgin Blue days, and they mean the Business Class/elite queue on domestic flights.

Unlikely. Velocity Silver gets you priority check-in for international services only on VA - through the Y+ check-in queue. No domestic check-in privileges.
