Hi guys,
I've booked a couple of J seats directly from Etihad, but the final (return) leg of the journey features a flight operated by VA. I'm able to book the EY Chauffeur service fine up until the Hotel to Abu Dhabi Airport transfer, and the Sydney Airport to Home transfer, which I can't seem to book directly via EY's website.I haven't ever booked a Chauffeur transfer with VA before, so I'm guessing I have to call them? I only have my EY reference number. :-|

Thanks!

Thanks, but yes, I'm aware that I'm not eligible for the EY transfer, but what about VA?

Our complimentary limousine service is available to eligible guests travelling on selected flights operated by Virgin Australia and Etihad Airways. Our limousine service is not available to guests travelling on flights operated by other airlines, including codeshare flights operated by Delta.

I read it as that being applicable to Virgin ticketed bookings only, you could ring them to find out for sure:

It should not be an issue:

  • Eligible Virgin Australia international Business tickets are:
    • Adult Business fare classes (J or C class)
    • Adult Business Saver classes (D or I class)
    • Adult Business Reward fare classes (Z class)
  • Guests with these tickets are eligible to receive complimentary limousine transfers at participating airports when travelling on flights operated by Etihad Airways, and on some domestic connecting flights in Australia.
  • The Etihad Chauffeur policy determines the number of limousine transfers that a guest is eligible to receive for bookings with flights operated by Etihad Airways:
    • Velocity Frequent Flyer Platinum, Gold and Silver members and Etihad Guest Gold Elite, Gold and Silver members can receive limousines at every participating airport throughout their journey.
    • All other eligible guests can receive a maximum of two limousine transfers per ticketed itinerary.

FWIW, I have an award booking MEL-(VA)-xSYD-(VA)-AUH-(VA*EY)-Oz early next year and I am entitled to book VA chauffeur for up to 60 km from MEL and Etihad chauffeur for up to 80 km on the return.

Interestingly I live 58 km from MEL by the most direct route and 76 km by the fastest route.

Hopefully not but given the Op is on an EY ticket and their conditions state no to Codeshares, I am not sure.

Managed to get a VA booking reference number :D, so everything seems fine. Thanks for the suggestions though!

I'll be doing a similar route as the OP. however my return is MXP-AUH/AUH-SYD(EY6450)-BNE all J. So my understanding from reading above is that under the EY booking code I can get a chauffeur hotel->MXP and AUH->Hotel.

So am I correct in assuming that because its booked with an EY flight number but operated by VA that I'm unable to get a chauffeur back to the AUH due to the codeshare clause markis10 made reference to?

Thanks for sharing such useful information of Etihad Airways. Please share any relevant link as well.

I have a MEL-SYD-AUH-LHR flight coming up.

I can book the chaufffeur transfer in LHR, but it says I am not eligible at MEL

So does the above still stand ?

I called VA and they said call EY, I call EY and they said as I am on a domestic connecting flight with VA then I don't get it @ MEL :(

I have a MEL-SYD-AUH-LHR flight coming up.

It's the same for the reverse - no chauffeur service at all for my recent KUL-AUH-SYD-MEL flight as it was not available in KUL, I was in transit for less than 24 hours in AUH and I was booked on a domestic connecting flight with VA to MEL (which was moved to the last QF flight due to a missed connection after a delayed departure from AUH)...

Okay well I decided to call VA again and I have a complimentary transfer booked for my transfer TO MEL airport which is on a domestic Virgin flight, then connecting to EY SYD-AUH-LHR

So, VA will provide the chauffeur service on a MEL pickup

:)
