I have just noticed that VA has steped up capacity on CNS-MEL in DEC/JAN to up to FOUR daily flights from one. I am surprised that this route has not been increased by VA to 2x Daily.

Which dates are you referring to? It seems that the schedules are a bit all over the shop at the moment. I looked at some dates and there were 2 CNS-MEL whilst there was only 1 MEL-CNS. Similarly, it seems that there are 2 BNE-PQQ flight scheduled per day (departing at 9:45 and 10am), whilst there remains only 1 PQQ-BNE (and no changes to the SYD schedule). What's going on?

As an aside, it's nice to see an additional summer SYD-HBA flight in the early morning, making DJ a far more feasible option for daytrips down to that part of the world from SYD.

There are other changes showing as well. I see from Oct 21 that CBR - OOL increases to two flights a day on certain days. And there are sched increases for TSV - CNS and TSV - ROK with 1 ATR and 1 E-jet service some days. But I also see that SYD - CNS has two up and 3 back, again making no sense, short of yet to be announced services to these ports?

Good news for Cairns though I wonder why wouldn't they increase capacity during mid-year when southerners would want to escape Melbourne winter.
