Virgin Australia Staff Travel - help please

Can someone please outline how Virgin Australia staff travel works for international flights? In particular for family and friends of staff?
The other thread on this didn't really explain how it works.

My limited knowledge on it is this:

All Standby travel
Employee and partner are group 1.
Not sure of the number allowed on group 2 ( i think its 5 ppl)
Group 2 can not book long haul international (i.e LAX and Dubai flights) unless the employee is travelling with them.
You'll still pay taxes, and catering isn't included.

Thats how I understand the basics of it anyhow.

Anyway, if you are able to have the option of staff travel, why don't you check with who is going to put you on their list??? they would be in the best position to answer the questions.

Edit: As alway, quite happy to be corrected... This is the general idea I got of it, from a friend that works for Virgin.

Probably best to contact the staff member or virgin staff travel for definitive answers as policies vary by airline.
