Virgin Baggage

So I'm relocating up to the Sunshine Coast from Sydney and will therefore need to travel with a fair amount of stuff until my removals stuff arrives

As Gold I get a free allowance of up to 32kg which will take care of one big bag but I was planning to take a second large bag

On phone to Virgin and they say there is no way to add more baggage and all i could do is book premium ticket - but they don't sell a premium ticket!

So I'm pretty stuffed - 32kg won't be enough to take all I will need and they won't let me change it - any suggestions?

(Incidentally I will move up to Platinum pretty soon where I'd automatically get the 69kg but they didn't seem to care about that)

It seems under the new policy - 3 days after i fly - i would be able to buy a second bag and get 2 x 32kg for just $12! How annoying

Does not matter when you fly, its when you made the booking: Bookings made before this date will be subject to the existing weight-based checked baggage allowance system.

i am more than willing to pay for additional baggage but seems Virgin won't give me the option.

Hardly very flexible.

Have you thought about purchasing another seat for comfort, with another 32kg worst case? Excess baggage at the airport is $15 a kilo!

You actually fly it, you just get two seats for yourself and 2 x the luggage allowance.

Ah ok - thats cool - so for $99 i get the joy of nobody next to me and a second 32kg - that may be the best option
