There is the thread on Business class but I have a question about economy. I have a booking on the 19:55 Virgin service from Melbourne to Darwin on a Wednesday night. Do they supply free alcohol on this service? I am pretty sure they do on the Perth sectors whatever the time and they are shorter flights than this one.

Perth <> Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne is free inc beer and wine.

You are outside happy hour so, just free water, juice, tea and coffee.

FYI Perth <> Darwin is usually a 737-700 which means no entertainment as the aircraft is not equiped. I call Perth <> Darwin #vasadroutesadplane due to the 700's originally having live2air and one is the "Virgin Blue's 50th aircraft" which was painted blue and had staff names on the lockers. VA is a step back to the DJ service on this route.

We received quite a few complaints from our field staff who were typically being allocated VA for the Darwin routes as part of BFOD that they have been given permission to book QF if it is up to $50 more - as they were spending up big on-board VA !

Just seems to be no rhyme nor reason to VA's catering. Luckily not flying Perth <> Darwin!

Yeah unfortunately VA was ~$250 one way where QF was ~$400.
