Hi all

Tried searching, with no luck.

I'll be Velocity Gold as of next month and first thing I'll be applying for Europcar Elite. Does anyone know how long it may take to process?

Next question, and more importantly, I'll be looking to get Accor Gold with the Europcar program, however I'm already Silver. Is there any hope of upgrading my existing Accor number from silver to gold, rather than getting a new number (which I know the Platinum links we get on here require).

Any other advice? All help appreciated, thanks! :)

VB,
I can only help with the Europcar question... please don't shot the messenger ;-)

They are (or were in late May when I last had cause to contact them) HOPELESSLY understaffed in their Privilege Loyalty team. ie one member of staff! I contacted them to arrange my free weekend hire that comes with Elite status, and was told that only this one person could deal with it. It took several messages and emails before I lost patience, and then several more calls before it was finally done! Two of my colleagues applied for the match and have been waiting months.

I suspect that they were caught unawares about how many applications they were going to get as a result of the Velocity matching program. Either that, or they massively underestimated the capacity of that particular member of staff...

My advice... be patient, and after you've been patient, be persistent!
D-H.

Once you get your Privilege email indicating your status, you will get a link to Accor which states:

If you are already an Le Club Accorhotels member and want to take advantage of the Europcar offer and keep the points you have already earned, please contact your Le Club Accorhotels customer services team quoting the code xx_x and your Privilege card number.

Velocity Gold will entitle you to Europcar Executive not Elite. Be patient as it takes months to happen, in my case anyway.

As Markis10 said the link will get you the Accor Gold upgrade details. If your just a Le Club member it is done with no fuss. If your a paid Advantage Plus member be prepared to argue the entire process as they have the atitude you shouldn't get anything.

I think I ended up getting a new membership and then had it merged with the existing one. They didn't like that either but it was less of a fight than doing it what should have been the simplest way.

See the Le Club Accorhotels section and check the all the links in the discussion for free Platinum, you only get the Gold through Europcar Elite I think. I got the Accor Gold through Europcar Elite and when reading through the Accor section I and noticed the links for Platinum. They worked so the process of getting the Accor Gold through Europcar was a bit of a waste of time for me.

I got A-Club Gold throught Europcar Executive.......except I haven't used it at all. Is this a recurring benefit, or a once off offer?
