I am Platinum with Virgin and Elite with Airnz
This relates specifically to the TT flights
I am flying :
Airnz on Airnz Plane
Airnz on Virgin Plane
Virgin on Virgin Plane
Virgin on Airnz plane

Is this correct ?
If I show my Airnz card I will be able to take 5 persons into the Virgin Domestic lounge [assuming I have flown in or going out that day] but if I show my Velocity card it will drop to 3 ?
I need to show the card that is the same as the ticket IE show my Velocity card if flying with Virgin .My Airnz card if flying Airnz or does it not matter ?

Probably best to ask the lounge agents. I did wonder this but never had a situation to look into it. I'm thinking virgin lounge rules would apply, ie 3

You can show either card, both will give you access. As per the number in the virgin lounge it defaults to the lounge rules, which i am not sure of as the website just mentions this "Simply show your boarding pass and your Airpoints membership card at the entrance. You will be able to invite guests into either airline's lounges in line with your guest entitlements." but does not mention what number is. I would go and presume 3 people, but if they allow more in then its a bonus.
Note if its a family travelling together ie kids etc they normally let you all in

Edit:
Elite Airpoints members enjoy the benefit of bringing up to 5 guests into Air New Zealand lounges (subject to space) and 1 guest into regional or Star Alliance lounges.

While virgin is not star alliance I would say the same rules probably apply which seem to say if using air nz you will only be allowed to bring 1 guest into the virgin lounge. So better off using plat there.
