Did mine at the Post Office with my print-out & ID for my Virgin Money Saving Account. All done within 5 minutes, the lady serving me knew what to do.

I didn't do either. They rang my work and that was all the checking they did. I didn't send them anything and go anywhere. Got approved instantly. This is for the latest CC offer with 20k velocity points.
