Virgin Money has an interesting offer on its Velocity High Flyer credit card. Earn up to 80,000 bonus Velocity points + 100 VA status credits. You need to spend at least $3,500 each month for the first two months to get the bonus points. This offer expires on 31 January 2025.

The High Flyer card has a $329 annual fee but comes with a $129 annual Virgin Australia travel credit voucher and 2x VA lounge passes each year. You also earn 20% bonus status credits on VA flights paid for using this card, up to 100 per year (in addition to the sign-up bonus).

Might get +1 to ditch her Amex Velocity Plat and apply for this card. ;)

Thanks for the confirmation. Never had much luck getting cards backed by Citibank, but it’s been a long time since the last spin of the wheel.
It's funny and clearly everyone is different, but I have found these Citibank white labelled cards about the easiest to get approved for now Im retired. YMMV

Does anyone know how long you have to wait after closing your previous Virgin Money card before applying for another?

I don't think Virgin Money has a minimum amount of time? You just can't be an existing customer.

There have been rumours you need to wait 6 months but then again I’ve heard of people successfully applying faster.
