I hope this feedback/advice isn't too late for some but this might help clarify matters.

I've held a Virgin Flyer Card since February this year, however since I have not held it for at least 9 months, I am ineligible for either of the new cards (with 20K or 30K) promotions - the 9 months is insufficient duration to cover the Sept 30 cut-off deadline. I cannot cancel my existing card and apply for the new cards either since I am still considered an 'existing customer' and the 9 month rule still applies. The VM representative corrected herself after asserting that I was eligible when I pressed her via the T&Cs fine print. She spoke with her 'Acquisitions Team' in the background.

Looks like I'll be churning other cards instead... ho hum.
