A colleague of mine achieved Virgin Platinum Status for the first time in min-November

Her membership card in her phone wallet reflects the new tier but she has heard nothing from VA. Not even a 'welcome' email. Is this normal?

I seem to recall getting a box of 'goodies' including baggage tags etc. Has that been abandoned post covid? Or is a month+ wait normal?

No comms of any kind does seem a bit odd .......

I retained Platinum status this year, but due to some error at Velocity's end I was dropped down to Gold. Following my request for this to be reviewed their email reply said that my Platinum card would be mailed and I should receive it within 21 days.

Interesting. Thanks. I might suggest that she gives them a call

Same thing here, achieved plat early Nov but yet to receive anything, I’ve just requested a card and a couple bag tags over the phone so we’ll see what happens.

Same here. I called Velocity and they apologised for the inconvenience and sent a second pack. The first one arrived about a week later and then the second one about a month after that 😎

When my card arrived it was Gold, not Platinum. I haven't contacted them as yet. I generally use the digital card anyway and perhaps the physical Platinum card will arrive at some stage.

While I am not Platinum, I got Gold status end of Nov and I only just received my pack last week (new card and luggage tags). The email advising I obtained Gold took a while to reach my email aswell.

My Plat re-kicked over on my review date of 22 Nov and I got nothing to confirm it officially - even though in the app and my online account it remained stating I was WP. I finally got a confirmation letter in the mail on 16 January (dated 21 Dec) with a new card and a new requalify date of 6 Dec. I didn't get any new bag tags though - was hoping I would as I'm missing one ande I'm pretty sure it was stolen from my luggage as I don't take them off. In the past when I requalified for PS I got new tags each year. I was PS for 2 years running I think. I might make contact and see if they'll send me another tag. Not that they make any difference - my bags are NEVER off first. It's only a pain when my flight arrives a bit late in ROK as I need to catch the bus which is always on time. I have run out in the past and asked to wait a sec until I can grab my bags but I only had one driver willing to do that. I do understand they have to keep to the timetable. I live over 50km from the airport so a taxi is a bit exxy 💸💸💸

Wow! don't envy that 50km ride home ...

Good on the driver that waits for you :)

Let me say, that is so cool & boss :) I can't imagine doing this in SYD or MEL or CBR or BNE ...
Yeah it's a long bus ride - takes around an hour with all the stops but I just load up my iPad with downloaded shows on Netflix etc. All in all I'd rather live where I do (coast) than stinkin' hot Rocky :p

Yeah that was a few years ago I had that nice driver. The others haven't been as keen - even when I tell them the carousel is spinning, I'm just waiting for my bag(s) - it really won't take that long. But not much I can do when they say no. And yer lol I would only try this on my local bus - not sure about in a major city but then they have another one coming not too long later usually, and the need isn't as great - not trying to make it home to feed my cats :D🐈🐈‍⬛

I can never watch motion video when I'm on a bus ... don't know why .. I always feel like my eyes are paining and I get uncomfortable ... no issues in a train or airplane. But never a bus ... I'd prolly sleep for that hour's ride.

Agree. Try to do that at CBR airport, the drives would give a look and ask me to take the next bus :p

LOL. Reminds me of the scene in Seinfeld, where Elaine Benes buys an armoire off a street vendor. 🤣 and negotiates with him to have it on lay by ... you talking to the bus driver and asking him to to wait for a minute for your bags to arrive.

Script as follows ;

SUPER: Its Sunday, Elaine. There's no moving on Sunday. That's the rule.

ELAINE: But I didn't know, Tom. I g -- can't you just make an exception?

SUPER: Tomorrow, okay? You can move it in tommorrow. I'll even give you a

hand, all right?

ELAINE: Ohh! Well, you're just gonna have to hold this for me.

FURNITURE GUY: I'm a guy on the sidewalk. I don't have layaway.

ELAINE: Oh, no...please don't go. Please - please don't walk away.

I achieved platinum mid November and finally received my pack last week. Two months seems a bit slack.
