All Discount.. Anyone see issues with SC earning here? Obviously ABX-MEL is an issue but BNE-ABX? I thought it should be Zone 2.

Looking for a sanity check here!

BNE-ABX should be 20 for "Saver" (You have to route BNE-SYD-ABX, both under 750miles [467mi+280mi]. Each should credit separately as different flights.).

MEL-BNE looks right (851 mi, so Zone 2 or 15SC in "Saver").

Judging by the rounded off figures, I'm assuming this is a flight purchased since last weekend?

They look ok to me, if it is a direct flight

ABX-BNE ia zone 1 (being 699 miles which is less than 750 miles)

If they were separate flights, then you should get the separate flights creditting.
 
All ABX flights route via Sydney

Updated my post. Thought there was a direct ABX-MEL option... oh well.

I believe there are still some issues with certain flights not correctly crediting. Velocity will get around to sorting them out ...
 
The key here is if they have 2 different flight numbers for the 2sectors, in which case the SC apply per flight so 2 x 10 SC in your case for ABX SYD MEL

Having said that I am still trying to resolve an incorrect posting from this week's HBA Mel SYD flight.... Still showing as 20 on a Flexi fare, should be 20 each sector.

Time for a call to Velocity I think!
 
My last two trips were both single sectors and both have been credited differently to how the rules have been stated by Velocity. One in my favour and one to my detriment. If Velocity Rewards wants to PM me, I'm happy to help iron bugs out of their system.

EDIT: One trip was pre 6th of June changes, one was post 6th of June.

The current position is the SCs are based on the direct distance between departure and arrival, irrespective of whether you stop somewhere on the way, and irrespective of whether the flight number changes or not. It's different to QF, but that shouldn't be a problem considering I didn't think we wanted VA to be a copycat (or go the way QF has lately).

In any case, the qualify and maintain rates are lower for VA than QF so that should offset anything "lost" for these connecting flights. Note this rule only applies for DJ flight numbers.

If you want SCs credited as separate flights, then you have to book separately (but then you run the risk of losing the second fare if the first flight is delayed as it won't be considered a connection).

The other thing to remember, is that the fare charged for connecting flights vs buying separate fares for each flight is significantly less, so from VA's perspective it would be more logical from a business perspective to credit it as a single trip.

I assume that if the separate but connected flights are booked as Multi-City, via the DJ booking engine, then they should earn SCs at each sector's / flight's earn rate but still link as connecting flights. Anyone have any experience in doing this?

Velocity Rewards is this a correct assumption?
