Hello all we have $676 in Virgin Travel Bank from March 2020 - refunded not due to COVID other medical reasons. I have tried to book flights MEL-OOL return in October and when I get to the end get "you do not have sufficient Travel Bank funds to pay" when flights total $656 - less than total of $676.

Tried again and on another search it flagged 'Travel Bank can not be used on these routes." So I ahve looked everythwere to see what route are disallowed and found nothing. Can anybody assist?

3. Travel credit expiry and enquiries

3.1. Travel credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and will expire on the date that is 12 months from the original date of issue to your Travel Bank (Expiry Date). There may be multiple travel credits in a Travel Bank with different Expiry Dates.

Have they extended your credits after that said 12 months though?

Another theory for your issue (based on my own issues)...... looks like you may have V1.0 Future Flight credit (FFC) as your credit was issued prior to Virgin insolvency in April 2020. That credit is (in my experience) is not linked to your Velocity account. so if you log-in conventionally with your velocity number you will trigger only conventional travel credits - if you have none of those, that may be why you get that insufficient funds message. When you find a flight, it needs to have the flight listed as a "special fare" or that flight is not valid for travel credits. Once you pick a "special fare" you may be asked to log-in again...... once again, don't use your velocity details as this will switch you back to normal credits. You must use the FCC login details. Hope this helps?

Hello!

I am trying to access my Future Flight Credit for cancelled flights booked on January 31st 2020 and I can't see any credit in my Travel Bank account.
I know you've written here that they expire 12 months from original date of issue but they sent an email saying that it has been extended until 2023 and this is confirmed on their website.

This is from their website:

Future Flight credit

You may have Future Flight credit if your original flight booking was made on or before 20 April 2020 and has been cancelled.

Valid for travel by 27 December 2023. Travel must be booked by 31 January 2023.

Have I misunderstood the information? Does this mean I needed to book within 12 months from date of issue, for travel until Jan 31 2023?

If so, that doesn't make sense because in 2020 there were no flights being booked, and it wasn't clear if Virgin would even be flying post 2020.

Would appreciate any insight you might have!

Thanks

Misty

It means you have until 31 January 2023 to book and use up the credits, and the flight(s) booked (by 31 January 2023) can be for travel any time until 27 December 2023 subject to availability...

Future Flight Credits were in a separate TravelBank to other credits. Maybe check you are looking in the right TravelBank.
