Hi there

I have flights upcoming in November via United.
I booked them thru the Virgin website.

I am a Gold Velocity member but see that there are a lot of issues with United honoring the partnership benefits

I am wondering if I do the status match that United are offering will this help?
The only issue I see with this is that I don't want to earn United Miles I want to make sure I get velocity points and status.

What is my best way forward with this?
I'm not "on the up and up" with all the tricks and secrets you guys have mastered so excuse my ignorance on this one.
I'm just trying to get the most out of my status while I can.
We are flying United from SYD-LAX (2 adults and 2 kids) I'm the only one with Gold Status (others are Red)

I’m bumping this one up as I have similar situation for upcoming flights. I also have virgin status and am having trouble confirming things like baggage allowance on my United flights booked through virgin. I’m not too worried about the flight there as I’ll check in with virgin for my first leg but subsequent flights including the return home I’m concerned the United desk might not want to accept all my bags.

I would also like to know for a client that is Gold Virgin travelling on UA I am not seeing Virgin as a status match now presume its because they are sort of in bed together any help appreciated.
should she put the form in anyway?

From memory UA never had VA as a drop down option for the status match partners but it was always approved when other was selected. I don't know how that works with the partnership so I guess wait and see.
