Hello thanks for replying I am getting to Sydney on the 28th of December staying until 18th of Jan and would like to visit a few places while I am there any suggestions would be most welcomeWelcome to AFF.
Some more info about your plans for Australia would help to get a response. I'm not sure you realise how big Australia is.
Thank you for replying, I want to see Sydney opera house and Ayers rock and would like to see some of the caves with the paintings was wondering if I could book a tour? What are you interested in?
A lot of tourists want to see the Barrier Reef up in Queensland. The weather up there is likely to be wet in January. Personally I wouldn't go in January.
If you like tennis, the Australian Open starts in Melbourne on 16 January. If you like cricket, January is a good time to visit as there are lots of matches everywhere. There is a Test match in Sydney starting on 4 January (Aust v RSA).
The Sydney Festival is on in January - Google the website for events. Sydney has good beaches too.
If you like wine you could visit the Hunter Valley easily enough from Sydney, and there are famous wine districts in most other states too (except Queensland).
In terms of domestic airlines, Jetstar is 'cheap and cheerful', Virgin is ok and Qantas is likely to be the most expensive. Rex also has a domestic network of sorts but is much smaller.
