There was a review here in 2009 by Keith 009 but it is now closed so you have to put up with a new thread.

Whereas Keith as a younger hip fellow found it funky and cool I as an old grey hair found it was style over substance.
We paid 147 euro a night on a Z3R rate. Also got upgraded to a Studio suite but on the opposite side of the building so a much bigger patio but no view. Also not a double vanity as in Keith's suite.

To me the bathroom complex was a story of wasted space.really could have had a decent sized bathroom instead of a needlessly large hallway. The vanity was acrooss this hallway from the shower hidden behind folding doors which needed to be shut to turn out the woefully underpowered lights. This means if you get up at night and you need to wash your hands you have to open the doors and have the light visible in the bedroom. Also the hook for towels was on the wrong side of the shower door meaning you had to get out of the shower to get your towel.unfortunately the bath mat was already soaked as water leaked under the door.As mrsdrron says definitely designed by a man.

There are other changes since 2009.Jean Georges is no more. They have an Ottoman restaurant OKKA but this was closed during our stay and lunch and dinner on the Terrace but with the same menu-underwhelming.
Full buffet breakfast was included but as the plat amenity. Now also free in room internet for plats.
There are more positives-service is excellent and by the second day staff knew us by name.If you asked for anything it was there pronto. The location was excellent for us and we much preferred it to our stay in the old town.Down on the waterfront which is very close the local shops and restaurants were about half the price as in the Old Town and prices usually marked.
To me it is closer to my number 1 tourist attraction-the Dolmabahce palace which I found more spectacular than the Topkapi,Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. It was only a 15 minute walk for me and the tram connecting to Old Town 20 minutes-if you are young you should be able to halve those times. Also the walk was on the flat and the route mainly shaded.
So if you are more into style this is a hotel for you.For me I am looking forward to my next hotel-the SGS-green tiles and all.I feel much more at home there.
