Hi . I'm about to waitlist a reward flight in suites but have some points that will likely expire before it clears. I'm assuming this may cause issues??

Why not book a date that is available on the same route as far in advance as you can, then if the waitlist clears you can switch dates?

Thanks for your help. Just to clarify process. Waitlist available preferred option then book back up. If waitlist clears change to preferred option? Any additional charges for doing it this way?

Thanks

That's it.

Change of date is free so as long as you ask for that when the waitlist clears you should be all good to go.

The risk is if your waitlist doesn't clear then your points will still expire on the same date even if you cancel the confirmed flight and have the points redeposited.

The cancellation fees are about $30USD from memory.
