Qantas launches range of leisure wear to combat pandemic crisis (Probably paywalled, sorry)

The ongoing quest by airlines to find alternative revenue sources to flying in the devastating COVID crisis, has resulted in Qantas launching a line of leisure wear.

Designed by Martin Grant, the hoodies, sweaters, T-shirts and tote bags, feature the Qantas flying kangaroo logo in various vintages to mark the airline’s centenary year.

Priced from $150 for a T-shirt to $450 for a cashmere sweater, Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth predicted the merchandise would be in huge demand from frequent flyers.

“Qantas Frequent Flyers have a great fondness for our brand and heritage,” said Ms Wirth.

“Having our iconic logos appear in such a beautifully designed collection will make this range much sought after for people with a passion for both aviation and fashion.”

They would be smarter to hock their PJs on ebay at $35 per pair - at least those will sell

Not paywalled - story here =

The Cashmere sweater will set you back $425 or 73,910 Qantas Points, a Hoodie will cost a cool $275 and their grey sweatshirt a smidge less at $250, while a simple t-shirt will cost you $150.

So, sad, skinny people only need apply ... I thought the fashion industry was getting away from that?

Apparently not Martin Grant/this range - I think the other 100th t-shirts, etc, are in a wider range of sizing.

I was checking measurements for the new fancies last night, given there's only S, M, and L sizing.

I was VERY relieved when I realised the 25" chest measurement seems to be from side to side, not a proper dressmaker style all the way around the chest. :p
