I hate opt out lists, it really should be all or none IMHO.

I wonder if P&P would qualify for this promo. In this case of Cat 2 hotel, a weekend stay for diamond member can effectively yield 9k points, a net gain of 1k!

No, a P&P booking won't qualify, you will just get the Diamond 1000 points.

I lucked in with this one. DT San Diego downtown (where I've got a four night stay including a weekend) is in, both of the SAN Hiltons I also looked at are out. All booked ages ago.

Q2 2013 had the same promo. P&P was a qualifying stay!
Oh wow! You were right and I was wrong. I just had a 3 night weekend stay at DT Kuala Lumpur. It was a P&P for 12000 points (4000 per night) plus around AUD40 per night. I got 8000 points back for the promo and 1000 for diamond. Sweet!

Yeah. I had a stay the first day of the promo and was awarded the bonus points, I did have to call up though for them to post the points. That said, next time remember to book via mobile application!

Last days for this promo. I thought I might just sneak in a stay at HSP but Sun/Mon nights has the more appealing rates over a Sat/Sun night stay. My question is, will a Sun/Mon nights stay earn the week-end bonus 5K? T&Cs state "HHonors members will earn 5,000 HHonors Bonus Points for a two-night consecutive weekend stay within the Promotion Period. For the purposes of this offer “weekends” are defined as Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights".

So do both nights have to be a weekend night?

So do both nights have to be a weekend night?

I think I just answered my question. This, from the FAQs....

What is a ‘weekend stay’?
For the purpose of this offer, a ‘weekend stay’ is defined as at least two consecutive nights consisting of a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I assume the use of the word "a" Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday means as long as one of the consecutive nights are one of those "weekend" nights, it would be a complying stay even if the second consecutive night was not a "weekend" night? Would others agree?

Unfortunately Sun + Mon is not weekend night. Weekend night must consist of the a pair of weekend night as defined above.

According to their FAQs Sun + Mon nites does = a weekend stay. "a ‘weekend stay’ is defined as at least two consecutive nights consisting of a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday".

I agree that Mon is not a weekend night, but it is consecutive and that FAQ states the "weekend stay" must
a) have two consecutive nights; and
b) must consist of a Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun night.

It does not state it must consist of two weekend nights.

Have you been denied the week-end bonus because of the scenario above? That could be argued I think, but I won't get to find out as I've decided to go with tonight and tomorrow night.

Yes, but no mention of Monday.

Yes, but no mention of Monday.

The point being made, is that Sun would suffice as the weekend nite. Mon is just purely the consecutive nite!

I would agree entirely with you and cgoh if the FAQ said this....
"a ‘weekend stay’ is defined as at least two consecutive nights consisting of Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday".

But it does not say that. Instead it say this....
"a ‘weekend stay’ is defined as at least two consecutive nights consisting of a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday".

PS - I'm no English master and I'd be happen to be proven wrong.

I think the FAQ should be read in conjunction with the statement above. It does say two-night consecutive weekend stay, and must consist of a, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Specifically excluded from the definition of weekend night is Mon, Tues, and Wed.

And yes, I wasn't awarded the bonus point for a Sun-Wed stay but I wasn't expecting it per the T&C.

Therefore, we could use Wednesday, being a consecutive night to Thursday (" .. at least two consecutive nights consisting of a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday").

So, stay Wednesday and Thursday as part of the promotion?
