Hi all,

I just got back from the US and noticed some weirdness with my activity statement online, namely:

- An AA flight which I took in First has shown up in Economy, with 0 QFF points and 0 SC's. This isn't a problem because I've still got the boarding pass (and will e-mail it to QF now), but shouldn't even a base AA economy fare credit some SC's and points? The reason I ask is - I've also got two AA economy flights (not quite sure what class) to credit, and I'm not sure if I should expect anything for them. I thought at least minimal points/credits.

- I've reached 740 SC's so far (+ an additional 60 for the above First flight + whatever the economy flights are worth), and was Gold last year (so only needed 600 to re-qualify), but my "Your Summary" page is still showing:
Status reassessment will occur: 29 Feb 2008.

Shouldn't that be 2009, seeing as I've already re-qualified for Gold? ie: Assuming I don't earn any more SC's between now and Feb 28 2008, on that date I should still have Gold for another 12 months? More than 4 of my flights have been on QF metal (and have ~'s next to them).

Thanks all. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

Not overly uncommon for AA (and some other partner flights) to not credit correctly. As long as it was in an eligible fare class (Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions) then they should be able to manually correct it. Sometimes the error occurs due to a data transfer error back to Qantas, or their interpretation of the fare class was wrong. Should be able to be sorted.

I believe when retaining various levels, you are only assessed around 2 months before your current expiry. So in about November/Dec, you will receive your new card, and that will change to Feb 28, 2009 on your profile.

That is what happened to me. I attained Gold again around December but FF account was still showing as re-assessment May 31, 2007. Sometime early April I received the Gold card as well as a letter and the re-assessment date changed to May 31, 2008.

Thanks guys. Always quick with the responses. :)

Was the flight in 1st class booked in 1st class or was it an upgrade? If a paid 1st fare, then that seems rather odd since booking classes AFP are eligable for earning to QF

As far as economy earning, the valid booking classes for earning miles on AA are

GLMNSV , which earn 50% miles
BHKY , which earn 100% miles

If booked in any other economy booking class, then no miles can be earned to QFF

Paid 1st class. I did MCI-DFW-LAX on the same day, all in paid First. MCI-DFW posted as economy with 0 SCs and points, DFW-LAX posted with 120 SC's and the correct points. :)

Shouldn't take more than a few days to get sorted..I sent the BP's last night.

Wouldn't bet on it being that quick

You should have Dave. ;)

Not only did they credit them within 12 hours, they gave me a courtesy call to explain that one of my three fares was in W, and wasn't eligible for points (this was due to a missed flight...so I might chase this up as the fare paid for was discount economy). The First class fare mixup was fixed and points/SCs have been credited.

In my experience they never take more than 36 hours. Then again I always e-mail my BPs so maybe that speeds up the process..?

It all depends on the carrier. These are various situations I have experienced when flight did not post automatically.

LAN business class flight took 7 weeks (5 weeks after I put the claim to QF) to post my QFF account! Apparently I travelled in a non-earning economy class even though I paid for and sat in business class.

CX flight took just under 24 hours to post to my QFF account without the need to send boarding pass.

AY has been known to take weeks to post at various times.
