Did a NAN run and spent a week in Fiji at the same time.
Made use of the double status promo and the cheap J fares to take a trip to Fiji with a friend.
Booked BNE-MEL-NAN-SYD-MEL-BNE
Located in MEL so did a red e deal MEL-BNE-MEL.

Going from domestic Y to J, just blew me away how much better it was!
J on Air Pacific, well that was just incredible, the extra leg room, the attentive service and selection of food was great! I don't know how I'll ever manage to sit in international Y ever again.

Due to the delays in MEL yesterday I only had 20 mins to jump from my MEL-BNE flight to my BNE-MEL flight. Basically ran off the plane to board the next one.

A definite hazard of flying J! :shock::lol:

The MEL-NAN SC's posted within 24 hours of the flight and about 48 hours the double came in.

Quite cozy in here, not too many people and the food selection wasn't all that exciting but good views of the ground handling at NAN

Thanks for the pics flyinghightoday! Am doing almost the same trip in a couple of weeks with the mrs. Haven't really told her all the flying she will be doing so a Baileys like that will come in very handy

OK people - now I'm getting nervous - was this last years double status points offer - or has there been a new one? Nervous because if a new one, then neither my partner nor I have received the offer - and planning on doing some serious travel soon.....

Some of us have NEVER received such offers. When they have been made to some FF members, its been targeted and not general to all members. So just because one member has such an offer does not mean everyone will. If you receive sch an offer, then cherish it. If you don't receive an offer then there is no grounds for nervousness.

I think this is the one from last December for travel up to 31st March 2011..

I was hoping to go to Fiji too in that time, but Mrs Fuzz couldnt make up her mind before the cut off date :(

It was the last one, as double SC’s were available up until the end of March.

Almost finished the same trip today, still have my Syd-Mel-Bne in J to go and because last flight out of Bne isn't late enough I'm coming back to Mel on DJ, what a come down that will be after all this good service I've been getting

Having not flown J internationally since UA (shudder) about 10 yrs ago, I was very happy with Air Pacific, got 1A coming back today and the leg room was ridiculously good

I'll hit WP+PG when I land in Mel, I'll be interested to see what my account says, as it is giving me PG at 2100, I wonder if it will say you have 300 sc to go to get 50k for the higher 2400 level, as my double sc's won't post for a few days , and I have about 100 more sc's coming this month I'd love to be offered 50k miles when I hit 2400.

I'm also relieved that bonus sc's came through for my QF19 on Thursday, today, not because I would have been concerned about missing out on them as a technicality, but because after I signed up for the double sc promo it was offered to me again after id already bought my flights for this run and was concerned it hadn't registered properly the first time.

I had around 1.5 hours in MEL so when I rechecked my bags in SYD i asked it only be sent to Melbourne, collected my bag and dropped it off at the car in the long term lot and made it back to the terminal for a couple of drinks in the J lounge.

The delays in MEL had me really worried, spent 50 mins just waiting to take off and my flight back was leaving 55 mins after my original arrival time in BNE.

The closer to the front of the plane you get, the harder it is to go to the back again..

I got spoiled on an A388, got a J to F upgrade.. wrecked me for life..

mind you, the 744 Jump seats did the same too pre 9/11

You know Mrs Fuzz? ;)

Actually quite a few people know Mrs Fuzz after the F Lounge Syd-Mel JQ35 run we did for the end of Anytime Access...

That was a good trip, think we need to make it a yearly thing..
