West Coast US via Hong Kong

My wife and I were thinking of a holiday in the West coast of America (LA and San Fran) later this year (Sep onwards), but I would like to stop in Hong Kong on the way there. Happy to do an open jaw and make our own way between these two American cities (Southwest airlines).


We live in Sydney at present and were wondering if there was a suggested ticket to do this trip with? Looking at both Y and J tickets at present depending on which will provide us the best value.

A circle pacific ticket on OW would do the trick nicely for you. Nice easy flights QF - A380 SYD-HKG, CX in their new J cabins (assuming a J ticket) HKG-LAX and then home on the A380 again.
