HI

Can I use my altitude points to travel to Vancouver from Brisbane on air canada?

thank you

Peaches, you've been waiting awhile for an answer. I hope I can assist. Best value for your Altitude points is to transfer them to an airline frequent flyer program like Singapore Airlines Krisflyer.

First step is to join Krisflyer or another airline program online, its free. As both Singapore and Air Canada are Star Alliance members this might be your best bet. Here you need to do your homework to see which program will cost you the least number of points.

Next is to arrange the transfer via Altitude to go to Krisflyer. Altitude transfers at 2:1. That is you need 2 Altitude points for every 1 Krisflyer Mile credited.

As Singapore Airlines is a partner airline of Air Canada your Krisflyer Miles can be used to book Air Canada flights. Air Canada has daily flights Vancouver to Sydney so you will need to connect in Sydney.

Just for a laugh you can also check the Westpac travel offer on the Altitude website (available via a link from Internet Banking). The offer domestic and international flights which can be booked online. Air Canada came as an option when I did a dummy booking to Vancouver.
