Westpac BusinessChoice Rewards Visa 100k bonus, $3k spend in 90 days, exp 28 Nov 2018

Oh, so your QBR account was never linked in the first place.

I think you might have government payments and charges mixed up.

See:

2.4
(d) Earn 0.5 Qantas Points for each $1.50 spent on government payments on a card or card account. However only whole numbers of Qantas Points accrued at the card account level at the end of each statement cycle are awarded at the Facility level. Fractions of Qantas Points are not credited until the whole Qantas Points are reached.

If they said you are eligible for the 100k next month, and you are also getting what you earned (albeit regular spend a bit later because of not checking your account and not following it up), I wouldn't worry. Get the bonus and cancel.

When was your annual fee charged? Was it the whole $150?

I think you are corrext, im getting confused.

Im semi confident ill get them now the rep said so, just a bit unsure because i didnt get any base points for the transactions as well and that was 3 months ago. I do remember entering in my detials, but who knows

As for annual.i think its $125

My trans history says this though...

  • CARD FEE DEBIT
    −$125.00

  • PRINCIPAL DEBIT
    −$3,219.82

  • CARD FEE
    −$125.00
Because i only paid off a total of $3344.82
This Westpac system is very confusing

Just FYI - not sure who it helps.
Re bonus points: (mine is a recent 2019) mastercard.
I had my Westpac Business Choice REewards Mastercard for only 2 months.
I fulfilled the spend requirement during that time.
Only DAYS after spending over 3K I received my 90K bonus points in my private Q account, even though part of the 'agreement' was that youhave a business Q account. (go figure.)
I got the regular $1 per point spend at the same time.
I would have had the regular points a month earlier, except Westpac mucked it up. This seems to be a common theme.
I noticed on my statement 'Qantas account not supplied.' Yet I have a photo copy of my original application, where I did, indeed supply it. TRICKY TRICKY. So I rang them to ensure it was linked.

Regarding govt payments/ charges.
I keep a close eye on my terms and conditions, and as per some of the members suggestions from this board, screen shotted them. They've been imm easurably helpful.
I noticed immediately that this card doesn't have the same 'No govt. charges' terms that others do. meaning I could pay my tax on it. Which I did. (albeit for a very poor return) but who cares, it helped with the spend requirement. And yes, indeed, it counted toward it. I will stress though, that I DIDN'T COUNT IT. I made sure I spent 3Kon this card, with pure un-contentious payments. I think that's the key. I do that with all my churn cards.
even this one where I suspected they'd be eligible.

Re churning it.
So...re the above, make sure I've spent 3K on uncontentious payments. Make sure I've paid the card fee.
Make sure I've used any useful bonuses (there aren't any much on this card), make sure I wait a day or two after the bonus points are awarded incase of some mistake, then cancel.

I hate this card. I hate the stupid system they have and their very user unfriendly website and statment system which runs days late / out of kilter. I hate that you can't tell how much credit you have left, and that even if you pay it off, it doesn't count until next 'month'.

I REALLY hate that no one at WEstpac seems to know who to talk to about Business rewards, even though they have dedicated phone numbers, and they all TRY to help, but know nothing, so you end up telling your 'story' 5 times to 5 different people, after 5 phone transfers. Jesus wept.
I really hated this card. but...

I love this forum.

maybe we have different products but similar, but I still cant see any reference to Qantas number being supplied or not,

my previous experiences with westpac CC have been the worst, every time Icall up, and I fail the security questions and they tell me to go the branch which I did,

I even had to go to the branch to close after failing the ID question

however, this business card teh application process was horrible but after my initial problems, and yet once again going in tothe branch, the branch manager was ridiculously nice, even gave me his mobile and said, if its not sorted by next week, give me a call, and he spent 30 mins at the time sorting my issue out

This business account has always required a signed closure form to close the account.
It's because it's a business facility, which is treated differently to personal accounts (similar with other banks).
You can email it yourself however.

This is my first business card with westpac, my previous experiences were for a personal card

Interesting, did your regular spend get credited to your QBR account?
Nup. Nothing went to the Business account. The regular spend which was only around 1500 (because you had to spend 3K to get .5pt each $1, not a very good earn rate) was added to the 90K so 91,500pts or thereabouts, all came in one lump into my private account.
So now, as I NEVER go anywhere or do anything for business, the QBR account is just sitting there like.... um... hello...

That's so strange. Probably worked out in your favour.
FYI you can add your ABN for all your QF flights, or for people that work for your business.

any Fine print experts here ??

In the t/C
government payments means any transaction treated by us as a government payment to any Australian federal, state or local government agency, service or department or any Australian court or tribunal, including where you use the card or card account to:• make payments to the Australian Taxation Office;• pay vehicle licensing and registration;• pay fines issued by any government, agency, service or department;• pay bail and bond payments;• pay council rates or fees; and• pay court costs including alimony and child support.

so any purchase from australia post would be classified as a governement charge?

Just tried to apply for this card and boy was it a mission. Took the power that be 2 weeks to figure out that they wanted the ACN of my family trust. It took a few emails and 1 phone call to explain that my family trust don't get to have ACN.

Then it took them another week to work out that they want all beneficiaries to be account principles, not just the trustee. And no, it was a serious request. Needless to say I told them to go and fly kite.

i got the card a couple of years ago and they have waived the annual fee ever since a stuff up during my application over the phone so im keeping quiet and wont cancel it until i get charged. 120k its tempting to apply for it again using wifes name as a sole trader but shes not gst registered and i think they may give her the round around and reject the application as her income is below 30k now and she already has a wbc personal card with a 6k limit. anyone know if you need to be gst registered now and what the minimum income and credit limit is now? i think all i had to show was my 2 years tax returns with a minimum 30k income when i applied back then. on another note has anyone ever been successful in getting westpac extras credits using this card or is it excluded?

Probably a really really dumb question here, but do they look for 30k earned on your ABN? Or do they just mean what you earned as an individual?

I have an ABN but havent earned much through it, I just earn a regular salary but do some other work on the side infrequently on the ABN (like 5k a year or less). Thinking if they just look at your overall income earned as an individual then this could be an easy card to get, or do I have it all wrong?

as long as your abn is 2 years old or more and your individual notice of assessment is something like 30 to 35K + then it should all be fine. best call up and ask as their credit criteria may have changed since covid19 it may be tougher and ask to apply for online offer via phone and plead that they waive first year fee for you taking note of reps name you speak to too then you may get it waived like i did 2 years ago. report back here what they say on phone as im thinking of talking wife to sign up but her last NOC is only 16k profit. i have two abn's not sure if i would qualify for bonus points again if i applied again using another abn as its all linked to the director /principal of business as a personal liability card so since i already have a card i might not qualify.?

Found out the $150 annual fee is charged per financial year even though it's not listed in the terms.
So depending on when you sign up, you are charged pro rata for the remainder of the financial year ($12.50 per month), then every financial year.
