Qantas use a heavily tailored version of Amadeus.
More generic versions are used by Air Pacific and AA in Oz.
QF's booking engine is indeed Amadeus, but a version that was effectively developed by QF to cater for very high-frequency short haul (there are huge differences eg. being able to do a quick TP transaction when flights are cancelled etc). Amadeus are now flogging this to other short-haulers and it will become the dominant package IMHO. The functionality is based on the last version of QUBE, which started life as BA's BABS. The non-comms components of the software have been ported from TPF to C, and the front end is all Java now (except for green-screen mode). That's all right, I still deal with data feeds from USAS!... There: all you never needed to know!
OMG is that still going? Not that I'm dissing it....nothing beat those old assembler routines for speed. I'm skeptical the new code does too. That's all right, I still deal with data feeds from USAS!
