We were guests last week. The hosts did exactly as you did. But as we weren't staying that particular night we had nowhere to escape to ourselves. I just wanted to go to sleep for a bit. Got quite down actually.  The two males were watching 10 year old I think, Test Matches. Host said to me, 'I thought you liked cricket'. Ah yes. But not repeats of ancient ones.
