just looking at flights next year to Paris via Singapore, 2 versions of the B777 are listed, anyone know what version is flying on SQ242 and SQ232, they are offerring saver J redemptions on them so i'm trying to make my points stretch further and then do the A380 on to Paris for the long leg. Once I know what version i'll head over to seat guru for a squizz.

The B777-300 scheduled on the SQ232 is the new-ish inclined lie-flat regional J, similar to what they have on the A330-300. However, the IFE is not exactly the same, and is a scaled-down version of what they have on the newer aircraft (B77W/A380/A345/A333) although it does have a sneakily similar interface. It does still have plenty of choices though - you just have to set your expectations right.

The B777-200ER (not -300) on the SQ242 has the Spacebeds (their previous intercontinental J product), which is inclined lie-flat as well.

It's going to be a comfy 7 or so hour ride to Singapore either way so I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Just so you are aware, if you're intending to do a same-day connection to Paris, SQ242 won't make it in time so you'll need to go on SQ232.

thanks for the tips, was going to do a stopover in Sin for a few days, want to head back for some excellent chilli crab :p
