What do we think of the new QANTAS theme?

Do not like it. Prefer "I still call Australia home" still...

Quite like it ATM without necessarily being smitten by it. Like most change, acceptance can take some time.

Modern advertising campaigns are the sum of their parts; individually -- on its own -- I think it's fair to say that this is a bit bland, notwithstanding its inherent musicality. Think jazz. Clever but hard to hum along too. It reminded me of the opening jingle for 'We Can Be Heroes.'HOWEVER, teamed with the beautifully filmed footage, I think it's terrific. It's anthemal. But without the footage it drowns. An important point of distinction -- 'I still call Australia home' was an existing, well-known song, adapted to an ad. This music was written as an original score to support the ad. I don't think it's really fair to compare the music side by side; compare the ads as a sum.For all that, I think the old campaign pips the new one but full power to Qantas for original creation.

I find it not majestic or emotional enough. The stuttering electronic noise is jarring and the oohing and ahhing is a bit annoying. very silverChair

But in terms or marketing, it's very different, a weird mix of trance and movie trailer music which is unusual so will be easy to recognize.

Time will tell how popular and if what the general population will say. I am not a fan of it.

I like "I still call Australia home" but that is a bit of patriotism from me and also ways puts a smile on my face and i always think about when I have flown back into Aust.

I think it's so so but doesn't seem to have any real substance or punch to it and without the accompanying footage of Australian landscapes it lacks impact so would not be recognisable on its own.

Being instrumental you can't sing along to it. If it was up to me I would use the same 'still call Australia home' song with a new back drop of landscapes each year.

The 'still call Australia home' commercial was iconic and could almost be a quasi national anthem of sorts and appealed to all generations.

Recently we've seem QF become the 'Spirit of Australians' not 'Australia' and now QF are no longer calling Australia home.

A cynic may say that there is something in that and there are bigger fish to fry.

When matched with images/emotion I might like it more........

Have to admit when it started I was thrown back in time to the BA add from the late 80's

Sitting in the BNE lounge now, they have gone back to saying "enjoy your flight" rather than "enjoy your journey". That was obviously part of the old campaign only...

It works better in the commercial than it does in that YouTube clip. Can't say I'm bowled over by it, but it works as a commercial track. It isn't a significant piece of music though or anything noteworthy.

It's OK. I'd like to know what the aim is though. Will it make people fly QF more?

SWMBO had many things to say about the theme and the ad, about the only one I can share is she doesn't believe in photo montages and it is embarrassing and sad that my face might be one of them in the montage.

No. This is just the person making the announcement, there has been no change to these.

Confusing, underwhelming, almost as if they don't know who they are anymore.
Maybe there is more to come that will make sense
