I have recently had a reimbursement to a closed card due to a refund on a purchase. The company could only refund to the card used for purchase. I then contacted the bank concerned and they are transferring the refund from the closed card to my bank account. As I churn plenty of cards I am unsure IF the spend that was refunded was part of my minimum spend used to receive the bonus points.
I do use my new cards to book quite a few things that might be refunded later. This has made me wonder.
Does anyone know if banks or card companies ever try to claw back bonus points after cards are closed if refunds are made on spend that went towards minimum spend to qualify for bonus points?
