What impact is the new JAL flight schedule having on rewards seats booked with QF points?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this yet themselves? I have JAL business class flights booked for November 2023 that I used QF points to book. I noticed today they have updated their flight schedule from Melb – Tokyo which includes new departure times and cancelling flights on certain days of the week up until October 2023. If a similar change happens again for Nov 2023 my outbound flight will change departure times (annoying because I’ll need to re-book a domestic transfer) but my return flight is on a Saturday, and it looks like they’re cancelling the Narita – Melbourne return flights on Saturdays. If my flight is cancelled, will JAL move me to a Sydney return flight on the same day or give me the option to move to the flight the day before or after when they still seem to be scheduled? I’m concerned that they might just cancel it on me because it was booked with points.

Has anyone had to deal with this? I’m hoping to prepare myself for what might happen!

Cheers

Both of my JAL reward flights in Sep/Oct have changed by a few hours for one flight, and a day later for the other.

Amazing! Thank you for the info. I have a family member who paid cash on the same flight who needs my assistance, so hoping they keep us together. They have a note on their system apparently.
